What personal data we collect and why we collect it

Comments

World Art Association visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website of World Art Association, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

INFORMATION COLLECTED FROM SELLERS

After opening an account with World Art Association, a seller is able to create a public profile page and upload information and content to the page include, but not limited to, the seller’s name, contact information, biography, headshot, images, hometown, and more. All of this information is fully disclosed on the World Art Association website. Any site visitor that visits World Art Association and navigates to the seller’s profile page will be able to view all of the public profile information that has been entered by the seller.

CREDIT CARDS

For any transactions on World Art Association which require a credit card or debit card, World Art Association stores the last four digits of the credit/debit card number, the expiration date, and the buyer’s name. We do NOT store the full credit card number, pin number, CVV2 number, or any full-track data.

SECURITY

World Art Association member accounts, including both buyers and sellers and also Donations, are secured by member-created passwords. World Art Association takes precautions to ensure that member account information is kept private. We use reasonable measures to protect member information that is stored within our database, and we restrict access to member information to those employees who need access to perform their job functions, such as our customer service personnel and technical staff. Please note that we cannot guarantee the security of member account information.

World Art Association contains links to other websites. Fine Art America is not responsible for the privacy policies and/or practices on other sites. When linking to another site, a visitor should read the privacy policy stated on that site. Our privacy policy only governs information collected on World Art Association.

From time to time, World Art Association may make changes to our privacy policy. If we make changes, we will post them on our site to make users aware of what the changes are so that they will always be aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and when we may disclose it.
