Born in 1948 at Shimla (Himachal Pradesh), India. Satwant Singh who is a painter, designer, sculptor, muralist, poet, cartoonist and caricaturist has won national and international awards during the 50 years of his artistic career. His works are in permanent collection of prestigious museums, art galleries, art academies, art institutes and in private collections around the world. He has held more than 65 Solo Shows and participated in more than 500 art exhibitions, artists camps, workshops and Group exhibitions. Satwant Singh captures the complexities of human psyche and the cycle and circus of life through seemingly mundane metaphors manifested in socio-cultural environment and the perennial struggle of humans engaged in a delicate balancing act to achieve physical and metaphysical goals.
